I recently had the opportunity to take this photo with First Lady after a brief conversation. This woman is FIERCE…not because she is dominating, aggressive or pushy…but quite the opposite. Despite the weight of her authority she was quite down to earth yet you never questioned her intellect. She was self assured yet you never doubted that was sincere and she was warm and welcoming yet you never thought that if she needed to be assertive she couldn’t flip the script at a moments notice. She is on my virtual board of directors for certain. Her attributes and leadership capabilities apart from and with her husband are classic examples of grace, confidence and discipline. So honored to have made her acquaintance.
It was indeed a pleasure to meet our First Lady, Michelle Obama today. She was gracious and even offered me a compliment. Her presence was welcoming, warm but yet authoritative and fierce. I was absolutely in awe and grateful to have made her acquaintance.
She represents the leader that I am working on becoming. Confident, gracious, warm yet in authority and on purpose. Thank you madam first lady for your example!
The 4th quarter of this year is fast approaching …I’m already putting dates, events and meetings in my 2015 book. It’s a perfect time to review my goals for 2014 and take and all out approach to finishing what I started. Leaders do this both professionally and personally. Get ready for your 4th quarter review. Look at things gone right AND things gone wrong. Map out a plan to complete tasks and strategize which goals can still meet the year end deadline. Don’t let your year just “happen”… MAKE it happen.
This is my lil grand heir…he had just got his first magnifying glass from a preschool class at church. I was trying to show him how to leave one eye open and the other closed in order for the magnifying glass to be effective. As you see by this picture….he didn’t quite catch on. He kept thinking by closing one eye on his right, he wouldn’t be able to see what was left…oh wait, I mean on his left….or did I?.
Some of us suffer the same consequence…our futures can’t be magnified before us because we are too afraid to close an eye to what’s on the side of us so we can focus straight ahead. What do you need to close an eye to?
